Red XVS 650 Classic Build

Red XVS 650 Classic Build

Where it started:

As many would imagine this build definitely did not start out anything like its finished form. This bike was originally set up for long rides installed with saddle bags, wind visor, phone holder & a quiet exhaust as shown below.

Being ridden up and down the coast majority of its life by no surprise this bike had plenty of corrosion & rust throughout most of the bike.

The Paint:

We knew this bike needed some love and we wanted it to stand out, so the first colour that came to mind was red, because of course red goes faster ;)

In all seriousness we decided to go with red but with the amount of restoration this bike needed to undergo we wanted the paint to resemble the similar level of attention to detail.

Because of this we decided to go with a vivid red lines mixed with a candy apple red on the sides with a black base with chunky flake dusted over and finished in a light candy apple red in the centre with honey comb accents through out. Sounds complicated but the final result was simple and timeless totalling 6 layers of paint.

The Parts:

So the parts where do we start...

So obviously we had to ditch the old uncomfortable handlebars to something a little more tuff and ergonomic so t bars were the clear option. Once they were painted and installed we needed some small sleek mirrors luckily we sell some of the best mirrors on our website so we didn't need to go far.

Once we had the mirrors sorted the front end still wasn't complete we wanted a different front wheel but we knew one of our big 21' front wheel would take away from the look we were going for so the next option was a 19' xvs650 custom front wheel which suited it perfectly!

Finally we wanted this bike to pull so we took advantage of its time off the road to do a full heavy duty clutch and clutch spring upgrade matched with a custom exhaust system making this the ULTIMATE 650 on the road.

Combined this with a unstoppable empire custom seat and a motor black out the build was complete! This bike was a absolute joy to build I hope you guys love it as much as we do!
